DIA | International Recording Artist, Cultural Ambassador

DIA is an award-winning Canadian-Italian singer, songwriter, recording artist, and multidisciplinary creative whose distinguished career spans over 24 years, four continents, and performances in 32 languages. Recognized as the Voice of Multiculturalism with extraordinary versatility across genres, she has cultivated an international career defined by artistic excellence, cultural diplomacy, and cross-cultural collaboration. Born and raised in Toronto, DIA spent several years living and working professionally in Los Angeles, USA, and Milan, Italy, expanding her global reach through features and collaborations with Grammy and JUNO Award-winning artists and producers.

A prominent presence on Canadian and international stages, DIA has headlined major cultural and sporting celebrations, including the 2015 Pan American and Parapan Am Games, and performed at renowned festivals such as Luminato, the Toronto Jazz Festival, Beaches Jazz Festival, Taste of Little Italy, and Salsa on St. Clair to name a few. Her career includes performances alongside celebrated North American artists such as Robin Thicke and Jully Black, as well as notable international artists, national anthem appearances for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto FC, and the Canadian Open, and feature in Music Monday, joining astronaut Chris Hadfield in a nationwide musical celebration connecting students through a singalong from space. Her commitment to community extends to charitable initiatives supporting organizations such as SickKids and the Children's Breakfast Clubs, as well as her original Pride anthem, showcased across North and South America in celebration of inclusion and diversity.

DIA has been a featured performer at prestigious civic and philanthropic celebrations, including the Toronto Mayor’s Arts Gala and the Vaughan Mayor’s Gala, lending her voice to distinguished events honouring artistic excellence, community leadership, and charitable initiatives. In addition to singing the Canadian, American, British and Italian national anthems, DIA has been entrusted at distinguished municipal, provincial, and federal government ceremonies, including on Parliament Hill, singing in both English and French. Among her most meaningful anthem engagements was performing the Canadian and Italian national anthems in 2021 for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s historic formal apology in the House of Commons for the internment of Italian Canadians during the Second World War.

Her artistic portfolio extends beyond live performance into film, television, and music production. DIA contributed her songwriting and voice-acting talents to the international feature film Tulipani: Love, Honour and a Bicycle, debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Some of her television and media appearances include TVOKids' Gisèle's Big Backyard, CP24, and international broadcasts across Italy, Switzerland, and Turkey. Her discography includes her EP Desire (2018), singles Limonata (2022) and Keep the Control (2023), and her Italian feature on Fire on Ice, a multilingual anthem celebrating the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team at Milano–Cortina 2026. Her artistic and cultural contributions have earned numerous distinctions, including Italy’s prestigious Dean Martin Award, the National Congress of Italian Canadians' Youth Achievement Award, and recognition as a #1 bestselling poet for her collection Ink or Lead (2023).

Academically, DIA holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from York University, where her graduate research examined the preservation of Italian musical identity within Canada's multicultural landscape. Her longstanding commitment to cultural preservation, community engagement, and the transformative power of music inspired her to establish Music & Memories, an innovative multilingual, community-based initiative enriching the lives of older adults through music, reminiscence, cognitive engagement, and meaningful social connection.

After years of performing internationally and witnessing firsthand the profound power of voice, language, and human connection, DIA was inspired to return to her hometown of Toronto from Milan, Italy, in a natural evolution of her life's work toward Speech-Language Pathology. DIA is proudly pursuing her Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, bringing decades of international experience in voice, coaching, language, music, and intercultural communication into the field of communication sciences. A recipient of the Glennie/Cizman Scholarship in Speech-Language Pathology, she is passionate about bridging artistic expression with evidence-based clinical practice, advancing interdisciplinary approaches to communication and human well-being, and exploring the profound relationship between music, language, and the human voice.

As a multilingual international artist, cultural ambassador, award-winning scholar, and emerging clinician, DIA embodies the intersection of arts, science, and global citizenship. Her career reflects a lifelong commitment to using the human voice not only as an instrument of artistic expression, but as a powerful vehicle for communication, cultural understanding, inclusion, and human connection.
